Historical Highway Marker

On August 21, 2009, the Paul Sawyier Public Library
was honored with a Historical Highway Marker
commemorating its centennial, December 12, 1908
(click here for the Kentucky Historical Society's press release).

The marker is situated at the southeast intersection of Wapping and Washington Streets
between the original library, founded by Lilian Lindsey
in December 1908 in the McClure Building (306 W. Main St),
and the new library, which opened in November 2006.

A DVD showing the program and marker unveiling will be made available at the library.
