This is the week for our GIANT Winter Book Sale! Due to an unusually large amount of donations, we have added Wednesday to our sale dates! Click here for details!  Memberships will be available at the door for renewal or purchase.  No single book will be priced higher than $1.00! Come join us and stock up on your winter reading needs!

While you are shopping at our Winter Book Sale in the Community Room, we hope you will shop across the hall at the Lilian Lindsey Bookstore, where we will have those sale carts loaded up, as well!

We have quality, very gently-used books, movies, and music, for your Valentine, as well as a gift certificate that can be tucked into a Valentine Card meant for a book lover. It is the perfect match: something for your Valentine that also supports your library!

Here are examples of the great book "finds" in the store right now:
  • several cookbooks for children

  • a Rachel Ray cookbook

  • for those of you who have seen the movie, The Iron Lady
    a biography of Margaret Thatcher

  • some very good American and British history books

  • an unusual and beautiful book of Edgar Allen Poe stories

  • several Louis L'Amour books

  • a copy of 100 Ghastly Little Ghost Stories

The Friends are now an Amazon.com Affiliate!
As such, the Friends will earn a commission
from Amazon every time you purchase from our online bookstore
or anywhere within Amazon from our website,
at no additional cost to you!
This means you can now support your library in two ways:

(1) Buying books from our new online bookstore

                and

(2) By always logging onto Amazon from our online bookstore
before making an Amazon purchase.
You can find our online bookstore at
http://psplfriends.samuraibooks.net,
or by clicking the box at the top of the Friends' home web page
at
http://www.psplfriends.org
or through the "Online Bookstore" tab on the Friends' Facebook page
(click the Facebook box near the top of the Friends' home web page).

when shopping
for the holidays or at any time!

All store proceeds benefit library programs and services, including the recently launched "Books for Babies" project: Each baby born in the local hospital will receive an invitation to visit the library! On the baby's first visit, the baby will receive a book to keep, and the library staff will take a picture of the baby at the library to commemorate the occasion! The Friends hope this program will encourage parents to make library visits an important part of their family routine!

Our volunteers look forward to seeing you and discussing books! They love to talk about books, and are happy to offer suggestions for future reads! Also, if you do not find what you are looking for, be sure and leave us a note in our special notebook on the counter so we can keep an eye out for it. If the item you are looking for is donated, we will hold it for you and give you a call.

The Friends always welcome and much appreciate your donations of books, CDs, DVDs, audio books, videos, and magazines, in good condition
(n.b., we have been unable to find new homes for encyclopedias, so we are no longer accepting them). To secure those donations, we have moved our Friends Donation Bin to the back, west corner of the parking garage, near the exit (closest to Washington St). Just look for our sign! A receipt for tax purposes is available in the store. All proceeds of our book sales support your library.

The Friends fully funded the Summer Reading Program this summer, and we purchased the Library Express van
(click here for photos) to provide mobile library services to the youth in our community.

We want to thank all of you who have supported the Friends this year through donations and purchases. Thank you for helping us make our great library even better!

Remember that every sale made in the store benefits your library!
All proceeds of our book sales support its programs, services, and staff. You may place your donations in the large Friends bin opposite the parking garage exit. The Friends of the PSPL is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible.
A receipt for tax purposes is available in the bookstore, located in the library.
